Since several folks have asked what happened to my daily blog entries--Currently I'm unable to write because my husband is in the hospital with a very serious health crisis that began New Year's evening. I'm at the hospital most of the time except for short breaks. He seems to be stablizing at this point.
Although the New Year didn't start off well for us, I'm hoping it will eventually be a good year overall. I do miss the daily writing and blog visits and will be back as soon as possible. Thanks for asking.
I hope everything begins to get better for you and your husband. I am thinking of you, and missing your blogs. Take care.

Here in Victoria Australia we are going through the worst drought and there is a great interest in succulents for the garden. (Even some of our hardy native species are dying.)Your blog, Alyana, was one of the most interesting I have read.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for the recovery of your husband.
PS It was in Queensland that Opuntia Robusta was a problem. A beetle Cactoblastis was brought in destroy it. Although prohibited, it seems to be grown in Victoria at this time and is now fairly common.
Hope he gets well soon...take care
ReplyDeletePraying for your husband on this early Tuesday morning (3am)...

ReplyDeleteAfter 4 days in CCU, then 4 days in ICU and 11 units of blood for what was determined to be a GI ulcer bleed, my husband is now home. He had no idea he had an ulcer until this happened. He is weak, but doing better. He will have to have physical therapy to regain his strength, and continued monitoring for any further return of symptoms for the next 4 weeks. The blood thinning meds he takes for another medical issue complicated this whole thing. That's the problem with drugs. They are lifesavers but sometimes the side effects are dangerous, as in this case. Since he needs the blood thinners but can't take them for 4-6 weeks, we are hoping that he can heal without any further issues arising.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your thoughts, prayers and comments. It's great to know that readers care enough to leave comments. Thank you again.
Aiyana, I'm so sorry to hear this! I pray that all will turn out well for your husband.
