Cactus flowers have that intriguing combination of beauty and danger that appeals to the rebel in me. Anybody can grow a pretty rose, but rose thorns about as scary as a kitty's paws when compared to a lion's claws.
I just found out that Ferocactus comes from the Latin Aferox or fierce.
