More Yellow

Parodia sp.

Parodia erubescens

How wonderful yellow is. It stands for the sun.
~ Vincent Van Gogh

This is Parodia month. Three of my Parodia species have bloomed so far, with two more to go. Four out of five of the group have yellow flowers. Of the 100 Parodia species available, I seem to end up with the ones with yellow flowers. Not that there's anything wrong with yellow--Van Gogh captured its essence quite nicely. It's just that there's so much of it in the desert and it gets tiresome.

You take the prize for all those blooms! Just beautiful. Its amazing that a plant that looks so spiny can produce such beauty.

Those four blooms look like some eyes looking back at you.

They are very pretty - the four along the top of the cactus!

Love the pale yellow flowers. I have absolutely no experience with cactus flowers but have always thought them to be some of the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen. Yours included :)

Happy GTS!

That is the most lovely shade of yellow I have ever seen! It is just sublime! Being that yellow is seemingly my new fav color, as evidenced by the color I painted my house, and the color of clothing I favor, etc., I love it!!!

Wonderful pictures. You really captured the delicate shade of yellow. I wonder why so many cacti are yellows? I did see a blue one at the nursey a while back an even touched it to make sure it was real!

I find it almost hard to believe you keep posting new flowers so often. It must truly be a wonder to walk your garden paths and to see the extent of your collection.
