April is the month that many species of Prickly Pear and Mammillaria cacti start blooming in my garden. Here are some new ones this week. For more information on the cacti, click the links.Mammillaria matudae

clouds, and wind the way gardeners do.

That prickly pear bloom is outstanding!!! It must be gorgeous at your house right now!!! I am dreaming of it!
Love the Mammillaria rhodantha! It's amazing how cactis can have such beautiful flowers. I wish my local nursery sells more of these.
Beautiful cacti... I'm waiting for my Prickly Pears to bloom, they should start in about a month or so... And of course, the Mamms are always cheerful when they start, aren't they?
Beautiful pictures. :) I love prickly pear blooms. :)
Beautiful ,really i love spring many colour blooms with new spine
I've made a correction to my original post after Celtic Rose let me know that I had mislabeled the Mammillaria mystax as M. rhodantha. I realized my error immediately and changed the species when this error was pointed out. Pure carelessness on my part!
Beautiful blooms! I like the quote too!
I remember the prickly pear in blooms. They are lovely. I also like the othe 2-such a bright pink. Must be so beautiful in Arizona now. :0
I used to travel all over Arizona but never got to Phoenix. Then known as a big city.
I lived in Tucson in the summer time. I also lived in Show low. And it was always hot in Tucson.
Mt Lemon was out in the country where we panned for gold. LOL
I guess times have changed.
Beautiful blooms. Thanks for sharing you cacti.
Blessings,
Elizabeth
Such lovely flowers. I get psychocrazy when I go into department stores and find strawflowers glued onto cacti as fake blooms. A lot of people don't even realize. Being a wicked person, I pull the flowers off whenever possible.
