One Flower, But A Nice One!

All the sunflowers I planted this year from old seeds appeared to be all yellow, so this one surprised me. It almost looks like a painting. This lone sunflower is the only thing blooming in my entire garden. Even the Orange Bells have given up--highly unusual--as normally they do very well in summer. This year seems extra hot, maybe because we had a fairly cool June, if you call upper 90s cool. Monday evening it rained all around us, but I didn't get a drop. Something has to give soon, or this will be the driest year I remember!

WOW...even drier than your usual dryness??? My gosh, is it possible! How do you sustain life there??? You better sell and move east right away!!!

Aiyana .. That is a perfect sunflower face albeit a single flower. I have had no luck with the sunflower seeds I planted this year at all .. every year has a different twist to it ?

Well, if you can only have one flower, it might as well be that one. Beautiful, isn't it? We seem to have been hotter this year than usual, but we've been getting the normal rain this year.

It is a beautiful Sunflower- it looks like the variety I planted this year. They did pretty well-but they are all dried up and gone now. We got a little rain again last night but it just isn't the big boomers I am used to!

I love sunflowers. For some reason mine have gone crazy this year. I've got one that has kind of a red color to it. Yours looks like a beautiful painting.

We just got rain this morning, with a great chance of more this week. VERY wonderful!!! I see you are at 79 at 11am, nice 'cool' spell, eh? What a breathtaking bloom! Looks photoshopped.

Withe the background, it does look like a painting. :) this photo would look great framed and matted. I can't imagine the heat you are having-I hope it abates soon!

Aiyana, if you're going to have only one bloom, that's the one to have! It's beautiful. It does look like a painting. I hope you get rain soon. Keep us posted! ~~Rhonda

Hello Aiyana!
So glad to find another Arizona gardener. We are rare I think.
Do you belong to any garden clubs?

Thank you for having me develop a new love for cactus and the sort through your blogs! P.S. Love the sunflower, too.
