How true the words of Hans Christian Andersen, perfectly illustrated by your photograph. The flowers are beautiful - the cactus pads do look like beavertails.
Lovey bloom! The beaver tail looks a lot like the pear cactus to me, but they must be easy for you to tell apart. It's so great to see what is blooming in other climes.
The Opuntia is beautiful, Alyana! I can't believe spring is almost over in Arizona but I see the temperature is already 63 degrees at 6am!
Believe it or not, I have an Opuntia in my garden too...but it won't bloom for quite a while yet. Mine looks kind of dead-like but I'm told they look like that in winter here, and that I'll be pleasantly surprised in June. If it looks anything like yours, I'll be DELIGHTED!
What a beautiful bloom, quite exquisite. I think cacti blooms are stunning. Can only grow them indoors here, with the English weather they don't stand a chance outside. Nice post.
This beautiful blossom reminds me somehow to my tree peony when it blooms. Even the colour is similar. You are spoilt with your climate so you can grow all these wonderful cactus. Have a good time!
