Pretty Litter

Acacia salicina seeds

Several months ago I wrote about the Willow Acacia's pros and cons. One negative I listed was the litter from leaf drop and seed pods several times a year. However, I do think the seeds are beautiful. The shiny black seeds have bright red structures on the ends that remind me of ladybugs. Well, actually the only resemblance is the color combination. Aren't they pretty?

Hi
Sometimes, seeds are as beautiful as flowers.

They are indeed very pretty! At first sight and without having read the text, I thought you showed little beetles ;-) !!

Hi neighbor...thanks for visiting my blog. I would say the furniture in Traditional style.
I chuckled to myself that you stay with gardening...boy, could I use your help. I am originally from Michigan and I struggle with growing anything here. I am going to have to study your blog.
Hope you visit again soon....

Aiyana, You have the most unusual plants! I have never seen any seed that bright. I can imagine it odes make a mess, but as you said a pretty one. Next week, I am going to show that cactus I asked you for help with. I am getting ready for moving day-where all the house pllants go outside for the summer.

Hey Aiyana, It's so funny that you should mention the habitat certification! The form and check are in the mail. That was one of my primary objectives to my new pond. I also have a drip line feed into it so it has an autofill. Provided we have electricity and water service my birds and wildlife will always have fresh water even if I'm unable to fill the bird baths. I went with the smallest pond liner, but with the two streamlets have aprox 18 gallons. I'm really pleased with it so far. It's also funny you selected the acacia seeds for a blog.... I was just thinking of how unique they are as I picked them out of my trunk deck lid yesterday. ( I park under a willow acacia at work)

I was thinking little bugs too, at first glance! How cool are these??? I love them...of course, if they look half this good when they age, I would have to be using them in some arts and crafts project!!!

So if you think of them as confetti, does it feel less like litter? ;-)

LOL! Only if they don't drop in your pool. They'll stain the plaster yellow.
