Cactus Flower Spectacular

It seems many of my cacti are really enjoying the extra rain we are receiving this Monsoon time. There is always the danger of root rot from too much moisture, but it will be months before I'll know it. In the meantime, there's been a great round of flowers. The flowers are very short-lived this time of year and I have to be extra diligent to catch them at their peak. I've missed a few--being the late riser I am.

Aiyana said...: I have several more photos to post of cactus flowers, but thought I should spread them out! I have about 150-60 cacti in pots (I think--maybe more) and another 50 in the landscape. I have cut back on buying as there is nowhere else to put them!

Rock rose said...: 150 in pots, wow. I have about 10 and the number is shrinking. I probably over water them, although last year they were out in all the rain we had in Texas and they seemed to do very well. I would like to make up my own potting soil because they charge such a lot for a small bag in the store.
