On My Way To Denver

Finally, I have a chance to get out of town! I'm on my way to Denver for several days to visit my son and his family. The last time I was there, I took this photo of an unidentified, simple white flower. The photo isn't the best, but I kept it because I liked the way the petals appear to be made of crepe paper.

Hey Aiyana, enjoy your trip... Denver sounds like a great idea, now that the Democratic convention is over and you'll be able to get from point A to point B without too much trouble. The flower is a Cosmos. They bloom white, pink or purple. There's another kind of cosmos that grows and blooms smaller, in shades of yellow and orange that's fairly common in zeriscape gardens... They're great annuals.

Hope you have fun on your trip :) Some people don't like white flowers but I really do. I just have a hard time taking pictures of them because of all of the light reflecting off of them.

Ooooh, white Cosmos, one of my favorites! They'll grow in the poorest soil, too. In fact, they bloom better if the soil isn't too fertile. White ones are my favorites and I grew them this year, mixed with 'Envy' zinnias (green).

Enjoy your trip!
